DISABILITY DAY AT THE CAPITOL
Each winter the Georgia’s Council on Developmental Disabilities invites people with disabilities,
family members, policy makers, business leaders, and providers to gather at the Capitol in
celebration of community, advocacy, friendship, and achievement. Disability Day at the
Capitol 2009 witnessed over 2,000 people rally, meet with legislators, and gather in fellowship.
This Event is the largest one day gathering held annually at the State Capitol during the
official legislative session. Since the event’s inception, it has become an inclusive event,
attracting a broad cross section of Georgians of all ages with and without disabilities.
