Disability
Resource Center (DRC)
is a 501(c)(3) private, non-profit organization that is committed to
providing an array of services to assist individuals with disabilities
to live independently, pursue meaningful goals, and have the same
opportunities and choices as all persons. DRC was established in 1996 to
meet the need for a resource and empowerment center for people with
disabilities in Northeast Georgia. DRC is linked with a reputable
national network of Centers for Independent Living, which has been
functioning since 1984 to assist and empower people with disabilities in
becoming independent. DRC serves as a resource center for thirteen
Northeast Georgia counties and their residents.
Our Philosophy
DRC is a 501C-3
private non-profit organization designed to increase independence,
access, and equal rights for everyone through the empowerment of people
with disabilities. People with disabilities have the right to be
independent, make decisions for themselves, have access to their
community, and to achieve goals in life like any other individual.
Our Mission
The mission of DRC is
to assist people with disabilities to live more independently and to
remove architectural and attitudinal barriers in society that limit
independence.
